I am using Firefox 9.0.1 and set my fonts to 20 pts. I used to get fonts larger on webpages AND on my firefox toolbar. Now only on webpages and the toolbar font is so small I cannot read it.

I am not allowing pages to override my fonts and never have. I have been using Win 7 Home Premium and have made no other changes. What am I doing wrong?

Use this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface:

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

You can use the NoSquint extension to set font size (text/page zoom) and text color on web pages.

Yes, this helped mostly. I check obits for genealogy on the St. Louis Post Dispatch website daily at http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/stltoday/. The obits used to be readable but now they overlap. I have to copy the list to MS Word to be able to read it, unless I want to read all of them in full detail, which I prefer not to do.

Why did this one webpage change its look? Did I do something or could it be the website itself?

Thanks, Bobbie

Did you reset the minimum font size to none and only use page zoom?

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues with overlapping text.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

I have the default font set to Arial and 16 pt. on the content page. On the advanced page, I have set proportional serif to size 16, serif to Arial, sans-serif to Arial, Monospace to Arial size 16, minimum font size to NONE, and I have checked the box to allow pages to choose their own fonts. Default character encoding is set to Western (Windows-1252) Is there something I am still missing as the webpage still is not right?
