I cannot load any pages in Firefox. They will not show as loading, and it simply says Connecting...

Then, if I click anywhere else, it'll fade and say "Not Responding". It started today, and every time I open Firefox, it does this.

However, if I enter private browsing, everything works just fine.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

It's every single site that won't load. I cleared everything when I logged off, and when I came back, it was doing this. So I think clearing everything caused the problem.

I can't click anything in regular Firefox, because it will "Not Respond".

Uninstalled, and reinstalled once again. Seems to be working now.

If you are in PB mode then the disk cache is disabled and you do not have access to the cookies from normal mode (you get a fresh new set).

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
