useful add on mistakenly uninstalled - removed because I didn't recognize the name, and now I can't remember it. is there a way to recover it? the add on recorded downloads at the bottom of the screen.

Is it the Download Statusbar?

Alternatively you can open Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons and on the top right search for the add-on by typing in a part of the name or words that match the meaning eg. status, downloads etc. or you can search for it here.
