Once Firefox installed the most recent update, it will no longer open. It attempts to open, but immediately crashes and the crash report opens. I have tried to uninstall (deleting profile as well) and reinstall, but it continues to crash. This is the most recent version of Firefox, 8.0 I think. Pleeeease help, I hate IE.

Did you retain the previous version and attempt to install over it? Or did you uninstall the previous version and then install FF 8? If you're running any Anti-Virus applications, disable prior to attempting to install. Post back here with results.

Well initially, I opened Firefox and the updates installed. Once they installed a prompt appeared asking me if I wanted to disable add-ons. I didn't click the box, thinking if I didn't click it, it wouldn't disable said add-ons, but I believe it did anyway. Once all that was complete, I attempted to run Firefox, and it immediately crashed. At this point I uninstalled Firefox, but did not delete my profile, then reinstalled. Still crashed. Then, I uninstalled and also had all my profile information removed as well, hoping this would help. I then reinstalled, even renamed the file to firefox instead of MozillaFirefox, however it is still crashing. It tries to open, and the browser appears for a few seconds before crashing.

Oh, also, there are no anti-virus programs running on this pc.

Maybe something here will help?

To get more help with your crash, post the Crash ID here, as explained in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article (the CrashID looks like bp-xxxxxxx-xxx-xxx)

No. None of those are the issues. I had already gone through a lot of the help stuff before I posted this. And as I explained earlier, there is no crash ID listed that I can see.

Can you find the Mozilla Firefox Crash Reports folder on your hard drive? To get to that folder, select Run from the Windows Start menu and enter:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\

On Windows XP that should open the C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\ folder. Do you see a submitted folder? Are there any crash report files inside? Copy the latest Crash ID here (bp-xxxxxxxx etc.)

See the directions in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article and also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad#Location_of_crash_reports
