I have been using Firefox for years and avoided the others. Last month I switched from att @ 1.5 mb to Comcast @ 17.8. but my experience with Firefox has slowed down rather than speed up. Google Chrome and IE do not seem to have this problem. I just down loaded FF #7 in the hopes it would help but it did not. The problem is most evident when clicking on a link.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.

Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
