How do I make sure the address line doesn't complete with "www" in the beginning?

I'm trying to access my NAS/router on "b3.local" but Firefox changes it to www.b3.local and then says the address can't be found. What to do?

One thought is to try adding http:// at the beginning before pressing Enter or the go button.

If that doesn't help, you can change the way the location bar handles ambiguous input to use a search engine instead. Not sure the results will be better, though.
