Why do my tabs not work?

Kinda hard to explain, but when I start Firefox after several hours of not using my PC nothing works. I will click on several links and all I get is a very, very brief loading animation in the left hand side of the tab and no page change. Also, opening a new tab doesn't work because it just stays on the default blank page. No bookmarks will correct this, it just doesn't load. To correct this, I have to fully restart the PC, but it will happen again after a few more hours. Any idea what causes this?

Since you haven't provided the System Details of your Add-ons & Plugins, we can't pin-point to what is causing the problem.

Update All your Firefox Plugins

When Downloading Plugins Update setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)

Check and tell if its working.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
