You are not alone. V6 messed everything up and the add-ons would not load. I uninstalled it and went back to V5. I tried V6.0.1 and again the same problems as V6, so I uninstalled it and went back to V5. All you need to do is use your Add/Remove or any uninstaller program to remove V6. Doing a system restore will not help. I've now had it with FF and have gone to Chrome, which is way faster anyhow and has some neat features not available on FF.

I also had the problem. I had set myself up for auto updates. Both 6.0 and 6.0.1 were woeful. I tried to disable the auto updates before downgrading to 5.x, but before I succeeded it upgraded me to 6.0.2. That version is acceptable to me.

Chrome? Thanks! I will try it. I am so furious about the latest Firefox crap that I am spitting. We cannot "go back" because those versions are not safe. We cannot use the new version because our common tools are hidden and we have to WASTE too much time learning how to use the new version. I work for a living. I don't know what the Firefox programmers think--that users have hours and hours to figure out their lastest brain-farts? Bah!

I can actually understand why they need to make updates, to provide added security. However, why they have to change what works just for change's sake, that I do not understand or appreciate!

I have this problem too. Every update screws up my java. I am so sick of this, I am seriously considering dumping Firefox. If they can't do their damn updates without screwing everything else up, screw them!
