FF 4 (wish I hadn't updated) :) top portion doesn't seem to appear properly on my screen
Hi, I don't know how to add a screenshot here. If there is a way can someone let me know.
After I updated to FF 4 (big mistake for me) the screen just isn't right. At the very top left is the little FF globe icon (not anything like the pictures show it should be..such as an orange bar saying Firefox) with text next to it showing this page: Ask a question Firefox help etc. That's at the very top.. and to the right of that text is nothing but black space over to the minimize/maximize icons. The next line has the file, edit, view, history, bookmarks Tools, and Help words..barely readable and in like a white fuzzy field against black, and again to the right of that.. the rest of the 3/4 of that line is just black space.
Next line is the tabs.. And next line is left - right arrow.. and my noscript icon..then the location bar, then the google bar.
When I updated an extension.. the Firefox question never appeared asking if I wanted to allow this download.. and what I had to do was to hit the download twice to get it past that point.. and then FF asked the secondary question..is it okay to install..but the first layer asking to allow.. was not there.
Aside from the seemingly many corruptions I've experienced since updating to ff 4 a few hours ago.. (not listed here.) I'd like to know if my screen looks as it should..
Once I updated to FF 4..even the FF demo stuff didn't work.. just plays the first video.. and nothing..no back arrow, no front arrow (in the demo that FF brings me to after I updated)..everything is a mess.
I have winvista sp1, flash 10.2.153.1
I don't mean to sound frustrated but I can tell that version 4 has corrupted many things (bookmarks..tabs having changing/unstable behavior/ ..and having only a few addons and extensions.. and never had any problems updating for years now with ff..and now.. it's all just a mess..
Thanks for your help.
Also, if anyone can show me how to subscribe to this thread, please let me know.. There is no longer an option anywhere that I can see since the support forum has changed. I have to bookmark to be able to find it again. I checked everywhere to find where to subscribe.. not under profile and that's my only option given.. using search to find a post on this support forum is a nightmare..
(I don't want to use rss feeds)..just want to subscribe to my thread.) I have the default to send emails but it doesn't.
boy am I whining tonight.. :) :)

Chosen solution
You can use "Firefox > Customize" to make the Menu Bar and other toolbars visible and remove the check-mark on "Tabs on Top" to place the tab bar in the old position.

Dear Co-rel,
Hi, thank you so much for telling me I can change how the tabs are!! I did that and it looks much better.
I also meant that the tabs are behaving/working improperly. Example: I go to google news..and choose an article to view..using open article in new tab.. so that google news is in one tab and the article in the other tab. This is only working intermittenly, sometimes it closes the google news page, and offers no back arrow to google news..and sometimes it does open the tab properly. It seems to be intermittant problem.. which is worrisome because if I'm surfing somewhere and don't recall what site I'm on, I wouldn't be able to get back to the main source.
Is my file, edit, history, bookmarks, tools, and help supposed to be in barely visible with white fuzzy shading? It's okay..but it seems weird..
Thank you so very much about displaying the tabs in the old position!
I'm all set Co-rel! I just saw about why my screen looks funny!
Right clicking on the menu bar was the answer to weird screen problem.
Thank you so much!!!
You're always here working!
take care, Michelle

Took me 2 days trying all suggestions to solve plugin problems eg?(FF4 + flash 10.2.153.1) so I decided to go back to IE and upgraded to IE9. Guess what SAME PROBLEM". Managed to find Flash 10.2.152.32 and installed it. Guess what "FIXED. Adobe is the problem not Mozilla.
For those people wishing to go back to earlier FIREFOX you no doubt set a restore point before updating to Firefox 4. Just find that restore point and restore it. Bad move though. I'm finding 4 to be not much different to 3 once you get the hang of things. Good job Corel.
michelle929 To the right by the beginning of your post are the RSS or email thread notification links you were looking for.
I did not like FF 4 at all. I have a copy of FF 3.6, if anybody wants to "downgrade" just look at "http://www.techspot.com/downloads/19-mozilla-firefox.html " or "http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/9513/" . Or search for "Download Firefox 3.6.16"
Good luck all. RG

I wonder how version 4 was ever allowed out of Beta. IMHO that version appears to be designed by amateurs. Whomever tested it must have not been over the age of 13. This is a FLOP. The previous version was not broke, it did not need fixing.
Thanks thewildman
Well, that is really cool, but how do you get to "Firefox>customize?"
