Happens only sometimes.

Windows 7 Ultimate.

Note that some sites won't allow "go back"(which usually is bad site design, but that's another question).

Often developers do this by using JavaScript. You may test a site by temporarily turning off JavaScript in Firefox which would then not honour JavaScript code by that site.

Of course turning off JavaScript in your browser may reduce functionality on some sites, but security-wise it would be a good thing ...
