reinstall printer software several times but when I turn on computer the next day nothing will print. Never had this problem in the past until recently. Using Lexmark 5600-6600 series with install disc. Any help?

I am using a Gateway P6860 FX laptop, however this is not isolated to just this computer. After re-installing the software several times I can not figure out why after shut down and reboot the next day nothing will print. Printer is set to default. This is a wireless network I am using Linksys WRT54GS router and a Qwest M1000 modem. I have checked settings that I know to check but wonder if something in the settings in Firefox may change/or have changed that I can't find or know to check.

The setting for the "default printer" in Windows really doesn't apply to Firefox. In Firefox the "default printer" is the last printer the user had selected. In the "native print dialog" box, (what you see with {Ctrl + P} or File > Print) is where you select the Printer you want Firefox to use -- in Printer - Name near the top of that dialog window. That setting should "hold" from print job to print job, even after closing and restarting Firefox. If it doesn't "hold" you will need to select the correct printer the first time each day or every time you want to print from that printer.

BTW, I have had a similar problem with a USB connected Inkjet and a Laserjet on my wired network; if the Lasejet "goes to sleep" after the last time I used it, Firefox will "default" to the Inkjet unless I re-select the Laserjet.
I have found no way to fix that "glitch" with any preference that is in Firefox.

Also, you might want to check with Lexmark Downloads for updated drivers. IMO, it is rare that the print drivers that came with a printer are the latest available for any model, from any manufacturer. But don't count on it fixing this problem, which I think is with Firefox and "networked" printers.
