Can't find Personas icon (fox mask) at bottom left of browser after installing the add-0n.

more options

I installed the add-on for Personas. I can access the gallery by using a bookmark, but I was hoping to use the short-cut the add-on provides. It's supposed to be a Fox Mask icon at bottom left of browser. Not a big deal, but just wondered if I did something wrong, since the instructions say I should see that icon. I did restart my browser, as the instructions told me to.

I received the message that the add-on was added successfully, but I also don't see it listed in the plugins below. Should I?

Chosen solution

You won't see it in plugins because it isn't a "plugin", it's an extension and will show in Tools > Addons > Extensions or in Help > Troubleshooting Information.

As far as the "fox mask" icon missing, do you have the Statusbar enabled?
View > Status Bar = is it check-marked?

Aha! It was the Status Bar... I forgot I had deactivated it some time ago to give me more screen space.

Thank you so much!

I have never disabled the status bar in previous versions of Firefox. In 4 beta 7, I don't find an option to enable it, and it's not visible. Is there a workaround for this issue?

[Nev'mind - apparently some bright boy decided it's gone and "we'll just have to adapt". I found an extension.]

The Status bar was removed from the Firefox 4.0betas as of 4.0b7, and replaced by the Add-on bar as planned for Firefox 4.0 .

The Status4Evar extension provides the 3 basic functions of the old Status bar as "widgets" for the new Add-ons bar. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/235283/
