I am getting spam emails from addtocart and they cant be deleted by any filter I try. Examples are: From address: 119058890@addtocartnow-vzb6f.co.uk 119058890@addtocartnow-bv1ss.co.uk 119058890@addtocartnow-j8n3t.co.uk

They do the same on the reply address. So I can't use that either. reply@addtocartnow-7ewm4.co.uk reply@addtocartnow-45dra.co.uk reply@addtocartnow-6w5nr.co.uk

Since they change the email domain all the time I can't use that address but neither can I use the first part as a filter. If I use the whole address, it finds it but not any part of it. If I try and filter by "From" "contains" "addtocart" or anything else or any part of the address, it has no effect and I am stuck with them. It almost as though they are invisible to the filters. They are in my Bulk Mail but the filters don't affect them. I am getting dozens every day. Is there a way to handle this kind of spam? Its getting more common and becoming a serious issue.

Happy to help if I can.

re :If I try and filter by "From" "contains" "addtocart" or anything else or any part of the address, it has no effect

It has no effect because they are not in the Inbox. All new mail would be received into the 'Inbox' and Thunderbird Junk Controls and Message Filters operate automatically on the Inbox.

re :They are in my Bulk Mail

That means Either : the server has already decided they are a spam type email and the server filter put them in the Bulk Mail folder. OR: you have set up the mail account Junk Controls to auto put Junk/Spam into the 'Bulk Mail' folder. You can tell if they have been marked as Junk by Thunderbird because the junk flame icon will be coloured yellow/red depending upon version, but if it is still a grey flame outline then the server put them into Bulk Mail.

Maybe you can set up an auto empty the Bulk Mail folder via the webmail account on server. Or in Thunderbird - right click on Bulk Mail folder and select 'Properties'. Then select the 'Retention Poilcy' tab. Uncheck the 'Use Account Settings' checkbox and select checkbox eg: 'Delete messages more than 7 days' old. click on 'OK
