My Thunderbird stopped working after admin introduced MS MFA After entering all the necessary server settings and approving my sign in twice, I receive the following error message: "Configuration could not be verified. If your username and password are correct, it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account. Try selecting another protocol. "

I am using Thunderbird 91.6.0 (64-bit) INCOMING SERVER Protocol: IMAP Hostname: [ outlook.office365.com Port: 993 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: 0Auth2 Username: [email protected]

OUTGOING SERVER Hostname: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Connection security: STARTILS Authentication method: 0Auth2

Please help if you could Many thanks, Anatoli

re :Thunderbird stopped working after admin introduced MS MFA - it's likely that the server administrator has disabled the selected configuration for your account.

Admin would need to switch on/enable IMAP and SMTP protocols in order to allow non MS products to work.

If they (Admin) will not switch it on then you may need to use an addon: Both of these addons are a paid for service as people do work to create and maintain them. But the charges are very small and first month is free as a trial.

OWL for Exchange: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/owl-for-exchange/

ExQuilla for Exchange 91.2 https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/exquilla-exchange-web-services/
