Has anyone noticed this bug in Thunderbird- every time I use the back key to correct a typing error, when writing an email, the keyboard freezes up for a minute, won't respond and what I typed doesn't show up until after a delay of approx a minute. It is not consistent tho- sometimes it happens and sometimes not. Seems to happen more during heavily use times. anyone experience same?

Yes, I'm having the same problem here. I'm only using TB primarily for newsgroups, but I suspect the Compose window uses the same code as for e-mail. At first I thought it was an OS problem (Catalina) but tests with other apps show it is limited to TB.

What is also odd is for me, it is not an entire keyboard freeze, but rather usually (not always) just the key that I last deleted. My delay isn't as long, maybe about 15-20 seconds. If it happens again, I'll pay more attention to the specifics. I'd say this deserves a bug report even though it appears to be random and not easy to reproduce.

Test in safe mode (hold Option when launching TB). If the freezing is absent in safe mode, check for incompatible add-ons, broken layout ('Reset toolbars and controls'), or an incorrect hardware acceleration setting (in Preferences/General/Indexing).
