I have been trying for a long time to get firefox to install either of the two add ons (preferably both), Widevine and OpenH264 but have gotten no result. I have tried just about every solution I have seen online. I have re-installed, tried manual install, using about:config, clearing the HOSTS file, etc. Please tell me there is some way to force these to install. It is driving me mad.

Are you visiting websites that require either plugin ?

Widevine is used for playing DRM protected media. OpenH264 is used for WebRTC sessions.

Try to toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can check the Browser Console for XHR messages to retrieve the plugin.

Thank you for your reply. I should have specified. The only website that has given me trouble about this is Netflix. Youtube and other video streaming websites work fine for the most part, with only an occasional hiccup. Unfortunately, neither toggling play DRM or disabling and enabling the plug-in's worked. Could you elaborate on your last point? I don't know what XHR messages are or what I would do with them. When I visit the page, I receive the same error at the top of the screen that I do when visiting Netflix.
