I receive new emails in Edge, and on my Android phone, but not in Mozilla since December, 31, 2019

UPDATE As of 3:00 p.m. PST today, all my email since December 31 is now showing up in my inbox. What I read in Edge shows as read in Firefox. None of my sent mail has updated, though, in Firefox

I'm making this update at 3:00 pm pst on 1/17/20 but the edit timestamp showed 9:52 pm pst on 1/11/20. How does that happen?

I am having same problem. No email in the inbox dated after Dec 31, 2019. Tried clearing cookies and data. Nothing works. Contacted Spectrum but received little real help. Safari works fine but I do not want to perform browser gymnastics to get work done moving in and out of two browsers. Spectrum does not support Firefox, they say! Spectrum told me to contact Firefox Support. So here I am.

I have updated the original post up thread. My Charter email has all shown up today, 1/17/20, including everything that was missing since 12/31/19.

Firefox is a web browser. It shows what websites tell it. Are you saying the messages display when you access your e-mail provider using other browsers, but not Firefox?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}

Thanks for your reply. I have already cleared history and cache and eliminated cookies from Spectrum (Charter) and hardware acceleration was already disabled.

I was able to get the email in Edge and also on my Android phone, but in Mozilla, there's nothing since December 31.

And Safe Mode?

Are you visiting a website to check out for new mails or do you get them otherwise like a push notification ?

Yes, tried safe mode, too, to no avail.

I go to Charter/Spectrum's website and log in to get the email. Everything is there...except for the last three days. It just stopped updating on 12/31. Can access updated email on Edge.

Some bookmarks may include POST data.

Are you using a bookmark or are you always starting at the login page ?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

I always start at the login page. Doing the exact same thing with Edge and inbox and outbox are both current, there.

It may seem senseless, but try holding the Shift key while clicking the Reload button on the webmail site. This, or look for an invisible scrollbar next to your mail list, or roll a mouse wheel over it.

The fact that their web page does not display correctly is probably their bug, but even if it is a Firefox issue, i hope someone has a Charter/Spectrum webmail account to reproduce and investigate it.

The shift key trick didn't work. I also tried standing on one leg while rubbing my belly and patting my head. No joy. <G>

Charter immediately pointed to Mozilla when I told them it works in Edge. Still working fine in edge, just not in Mozilla. I have two other email programs running in Mozilla and they're working fine. This is a strange one...

Um, say, is Spectrum still using the Roadrunner webmail portal? Or are you using it in lieu of changing to their current version if they have one?

Regardless, here is another display issue regarding Spectrum email. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1245360

Unless someone can see what is actually happening, it is going to be difficult to file a bug report, if appropriate. The other issue is that Firefox tends to be stricter in adhering to standards while some other browsers allow technically inappropriate behaviours, are more forgiving, or have quirks/compatibility mode for obsolete or bad code. This compounds the problem in identifying the issue and whether it is a FF bug. I, personally, would not know where to even begin suggesting what sort of info to pull using the Web Developer or other tools, especially running blind.

Here are some stupid suggestions, from my experience: - Use an email provider other than an ISP. They are frequently bad at webmail and don't care to spend much keeping it up to date, even when they are using a customized third-party email provider. (Or they may change radically your webmail interface in a way you do not like.) [Most of these ISPs are no strangers to being voted into the top 10 worst companies in America to work for, and in customer service and satisfaction.] - Set up an actual email client (or even a fake email "app"), instead of, or alongside, using webmail. This can get you past loads of issues, and give you far more control over curating your mail.

Stupid, i know, but still offering. These are good alternatives, no matter what browser you use. And just to be clear, it is hardly that i think Mozilla is perfect and blameless. Hopefully someone can have a look at this with debug eyes.

Good the hear that, kenspeed! I hope the issue has been resolved as well for others facing it.
