popup warning: "thunderbird can't update to the latest version" : other history
It's about the same message as mentioned in the ticket: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1269619#answer-1256327 but in my case the message is not there each day but each couple of weeks. I'm now running TB 68.1.2 32 bit and I've checked whether mozilla maintenance service 68.1.2 is also installed and that is ok.
When I had TB 60.9.0 installed I got also a number of times the popup warning message (at the moment there is really an update?)
I have installed a new version on top of TB 60.9.0 (installed by my reseller on my new pc) but that gave a problem: the new version was installed in parallel beside the old version (maybe because the old version could be 64 bit and the new version was 32 bit?) I have then removed both versions via control panel and installed the new version again.
But I haven't yet a solution for the popup warning message.
In my case there is no discrepancy between the showed version in the "about" windows and the "tools->options->updates" the "updates history" is empty

The problem is my antivirus! When I disable my AV and I then help->about: the update succeed before the window told me TB is uptodate while it was not the case
but which file/app must I now exclude from my AV to avoid the problem?
What is your antivirus ??
Did you sent this post: https://support.mozilla.org/nl/questions/1270289
I don't understand it would be sent be a certain mike but edited by Wayne Mery.
Now I understand by 'editing' the system means last post.
But as you asked in the last message of the post I indicated I'm indeed using kaspersky.
I had disabled the software updater of my anti virus and I have still the problem my help->about does not find the update. It tells me always thunderbird is up to date.
