Contact the email provider and check about the required server settings. With the settings you obtained try manual setup. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/manual-account-configuration

Who is the email provider anyway?

The easiest way would have been to copy over the entire profile from the old disc. Since you do seem to be beyond that point, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Thunderbird
