My wife's computer uses Windows Home Premium. It may be XP based - it is certainly not Vista. She has just received an automatic update to Thunderbird 60. There was a notice to the effect that Windows XP and Vista are no longer supported. Will Thunderbird 60 work fine with the 64 bit version of Windows Home Premium? Or should we roll back the update to version 60 and turn off all future automatic updates to Thunderbird?

She does not want the upheaval involved in upgrading to Windows 10. Many thanks, Kevington

There was a Windows XP Home Edition however the Windows Home Premium sounds like a edition of Windows 7.

Thunderbird 60.0 and later requires Windows 7, 8 (8.1), 10 to run. The old Thunderbird 52.9.0 that did run on WinXP and Vista also is End Of Life.

32-bit Thunderbird for Windows works fine on 64-bit Windows 7, 8 (8.1), 10 due to WoW64. There is no officially supported Win64 Releases yet as to why it is not listed on https://www.thunderbird.net//thunderbird/all/

Firefox is a similar thing as in Fx 53.0 and later including current Fx 63.0.1 release requires Windows 7, 8 (8.1), 10 to run.
