I can't access site directly from the url remembered by my browser, but can access them if i look for them on google first
It's the strangest thing. At first I thought I just couldn't access random sites. Then I realized that if i try to just write the url in the searchbar and hit send, it won't load, but if i look for it on google AND THEN access it, it works. it seems trivial but actually it causes problems in pages that have links of any kind: if the page won't load, i can't always work around it - especially if it's a download link for a document! i tried using safe mode (nothing changed), cleared my cache, checked for viruses and malware. nothing. admittedly though i should check another time for malware, my software wasn't updated. any thoughts?

Hey cutenegativitycloud!
When you say "it won't load," what precisely does Firefox do? Does it give you an error page, does it just say "Waiting for example.com..." forever, or something else? If you could share screenshots, that would be great!
Also, is there something special about your network setup? For instance, are you using a proxy or a VPN that could be interfering with your network connection?
Thanks!
Hi, what happens is that the page remains totally blank, the only thing "happening" is the two dots going left to right at the top-left corner of the tab, signaling that the page is loading, but it never actually loads. I'm not using any proxy or vpn. I had thought it might have been a compatibility issue, so I updated firefox to the latest version available, but the problem persists.
Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 25.0 r0 by removing it with this tool : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html If you use it Reinstall with Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.154 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
What security Software are you running please ??
Since you are not up to date (ver 59) to current release 61.0.1 please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Hello everyone, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'll try what Pkshadow suggested today, hopefully. To answer your question, I'm using AVG (free).
Thank you so much, Pkshadow! It worked!
Welcome. Please note this issue or others can return with a AVG update or Firefox update Sept 5th
