Site pulls up nothing but a grey screen. When I click on the (i) to get information I get info stating that the website is not secure blah blah blah blah blah...but no where can I select OPEN IT ANYWAY.

Previous versions of FIrefox let me bypass this mess, this version does not. Please advise how I can access this site along with about 200 other sites that are also doing this.

Running Linux Manjaro Gnome Edition, if more info is needed I am glad to provide.

Can you try replacing the http in the url with https manually? If that works, you can install HTTPS Everywhere to automatically execute that step for you.

That did not work. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The website opens fine for me, can you try safe mode? Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

I'm pretty sure that the fact that the connection is not secure has nothing to do with the grey screen.

When I click on your link the page opens ........ a grey screen, but just for a split second.

Stab in the dark : Would you go to Preferences => Add-ons => Plugins and make sure that 'Shockwave Flash' is set to 'Always Activate'.

If that's not it, and you have no extensions that are causing this : what security software are you using (if any )  ?

Thanks for the info McCoy unfortunately that was not it.

I do not run security software I use linux so no real need. Firewall is not blocking the connection as I have disabled the firewall for testing purposes.

Re-reading your question I wonder : when you say that about 200 other sites are doing this - are you still talking about showing a grey page  ? Or just the 'Connection is Not Secure' message when you click on the Page Info icon  ?

And what I should have asked you before : Do you have the same problem(s) when you use a different browser or with Firefox only  ?
