How to Enable Delete Confirmation Dialog Box in Thunderbird email SPAM box
I found instructions for how to Enable or Delete the confirmation dialog box for the TRASH box, but could not find a fix for how to do the same thing for the SPAM box. How do you do I get back the SPAM box confirmation dialog box? Thanks!

PS - you could try the Folder Flags add-on to set a "junk" flag on your Spam folder, and then it would acquire the characteristics of the Junk folder.

why would you want a confirmation for the moving of mail from the Junk folder to trash. That is all that really happens behind the scenes when you delete any mail from any folder but the trash folder.
Matt: I understand the concept of what happens with deleting or emptying Emails in Thunderbird. Some people like the confirmation feature for Trash and/or Spam emptying, some don't like one or both, and some don't really care - especially with Spam.
The Trash and Spam empty delete conformation dialog box is available BY DEFAULT after a normal/new installation of Thunderbird, and either dialog box can be removed intentionally (- or accidently, as happened here). On one of our two computers, the Spam confirmation dialog box "Don't ask me again" box got checked accidently, and the dialog box no longer appears when emptying spam. I would like to return it, whether logically needed or not, so that both computers are the same. While I was able to easily find the way to re-enable the Trash empty conformation dialog box, I have been unable to find the way to re-enable the Spam empty conformation dialog box. Perhaps there is no way to do it; but If you (Matt) or someone else knows how to re-enable the Spam empty conformation dialog box in Thunderbird, please share it with me; if for no other reason than for me to learn the method.
Thanks, dickisabel
The SPAM folder is not a native Thunderbird folder. Did you actually mean "Junk"?
The prompt for the Junk folder is controlled by this:
mailnews.emptyJunk.dontAskAgain
Go to the config editor and toggle it to false.

Zenos,
Thanks for your reply. I have Gmail, AOL, and Charter Email accounts in Thunderbird on my computers. All of them have a Spam, Trash and Junk E-mail folder. Actual or suspected Spam appears only in the Spam folder in all cases. The Empty dialog box feature that I am trying to recover pertains only to the SPAM folders. A Right click on only the SPAM folder has an Empty Junk choice on the drop-down menu. The Empty Junk choice does NOT appear on the drop-down menu when Right clicking on the Junk or Junk Email folders.
BUT .... Having said all that, I tried what you suggested, and "Your suggestion worked"! The SPAM delete conformation dialog box appears again in the same way as with the Trash folders. The mixed use of Spam and Junk for the same thing is a "confusion factor". Thank you, Zenos!!
Sincerely, dickisabel
Zenos,
I'll checkout your second suggestion too. Thanks!!
set mailnews.ui.junk.firstuse in the config editor to true. My google Fu may well be back for the day.
Problem solved. Thanks!!
