What version of Thunderbird are you using. There are problems with gmail on versions prior to version 52.xx 52.2 is the current release

lets se, when you start the account wizard it ask you for your username and password. Then the wizard runs, Googles settings are downloaded and the account is configured as oAuth2.0.
Then a web page appears asking for you Google password. (that which you have provided.
This web page is entirely Google, not Thunderbird. But pressing next should (it is taking a while on google yesterday and today for me) make a password prompt appear.
Alternatively you can over ride the oAuth2.0 with password in the wizard, and enable the less secure apps option on the gmail web site.
Sorry but none of the buttons are usable, still tried a 4th time after 3 days passed and no button works. I also lowered resolution as other thread said, with no success. I cannot import my email in Thunderbird because I get that gmail frozen screen that does not react to any of the options in the page.
