Thunderbird 52.1.1 32bit running on a Windows 7 PC connecting to an MDaemon 17.0.0 mail server.

One of my end users has created a subfolder under her Inbox. If you look at this subfolder in Thunderbird, it says there are no messages in it. If you look at it in MDaemon's web client, you can see there are messages in the subfolder.

At first, this subfolder was not showing at all in Thunderbird. If you looked at the Subscribe settings, the checkbox next to this subfolder was not checked. I could check it but it would not stay checked. I removed the user's profile from Thunderbird and re-added it. Thunderbird now shows the subfolder, but not the messages inside it.

The user was on Thunderbird version 45.4.0. I upgraded to 52.1.1 but this made no difference.

I'm looking for other suggestions to try to fix this problem.

Does the server permit sub folders of the inbox? What is the imap server directory for the account? Is that specified in the server setting / advanced dialog in the form [Gmail] for instance? When you right click the folder and select properties What is set in offline use on the Synchronization tab? Does repair help on the General information?

I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you. The end user and I were each out of the office for a time and when we were in the office, kept missing each other until today.

The problem has changed slightly. The subfolder is showing up now but it is showing as empty in Thunderbird. There are messages in the folder when using the web client.

The server does permit subfolders of the inbox. The user has other subfolders of the inbox that she is subscribed to and that contain mail that Thunderbird can see.

The IMAP server directory for the account is blank.

Offline use - checked Tried a repair, it made no difference.
