Thunderbird apparently is no longer connected to my contacts file, and I can't figure out what to do about it. When I type in a name it is in red and no address. No problem with this before upgrading.

I don't recall seeing any bug reports about this. So, does it reproduce in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Thank you so much. Going to Safe Mode then back, seemed to do the trick. I appreciate your quick reply. Thanks again.

There is a lot of stuff on the Troubleshooting page, but no addons/extensions listed. The program is working OK now. Going to safe Mode and back to regular seems to have cleared it up. Thank you!

Another problem I have is: is there a way to bulk delete thousands of emails that have built up?

suggest you delete only 500 to 1,000 per delete key.
