I am using the latest version of Thunderbird for emails. Until recently it was working great. Now, after the initial start up of the PC and Tbird I no longer receive emails. (a batch of emails comes through but could be days old depending on my last reboot). I have tried restarting Tbird with and without addons enabled. I have run various virus scans of the pc. The only thing that works is a complete reboot of the pc and restarting tbird. Today, for example, my pc had been on for a few days without a reboot, therefore my emails were a few days behind - none have come in. Restarted tbird.....nothing. Restarted the machine....new emails came in.

thanks for your help
