Why do I automatically get redirected to random sales sites when clicking on a given site's lower level choices?
When I go to a website via Firefox, and select a lower level link to view it's content, I briefly see that page then automatically get redirected to some entirely different sales site, completely unrelated to what I was viewing.

Hi drc_rowhog, next time you get redirected away, can you copy the address from the address bar and paste it into a reply?
I'll let you know what I'll be looking for: there are some internet service providers and some add-ons that trigger on a broken URL in a page or other circumstances to divert you to paid search engine results or something else. On that page, there usually is an explanatory or opt-out link near the upper right or at the bottom.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
