I am using Firefox 50.0 on my Mac. Recently upgraded to Sierra OS. My browsing history is gone. New sites are not recorded. I haven't changed any settings. Not in private mode. Bookmarks seem to be okay. What do I do? Should I remove and re-install firefox? Switch to Safari? (kidding)

  3. Scroll to the new Places Maintence addon then click on the button "Preferences"

Hi mhkalman,

Please check two things:

  1. Check that the places.sqlite file is still in your profile folder and make a copy of it, this is where your history is stored. Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data Make sure the folder profile name is the latest one that you are using
  2. Check out this add on to fix any corruption for your history database: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?src=ss

Please post back with your results, we are happy to help and want to minimize data loss.

I added the add-on, but I don't know what to do with it.

Thank you for your answer (s). I will save them. I actually refreshed Firefox and now it seems to be recording history. Old mhistory is gone but I can live with that.
