I'm changing to a Mac, how do I transfer my addressbook. I have read some of the instructions but there has to be an easier way. Thanks,
I have has a Gmail account for some time. I have read several instructions of how to accomplish this, but most of it is Greek to me. How can transfer my contacts list to my Thunderbird account on my new Mac? Thanks, Benny

Are you looking at the menu in the Address Book?
If the Address Book doesn't have a menu, press alt or F10 to make it appear temporarily. Go to View|Toolbars and tick the checkboxes to make it permanent.

what have you read? Where, or at what point does it become confusing?
You say you're changing to a Mac. But what are you changing from? Were you using Thunderbird before this change?
Hi Zenos....I am running Thunderbird on my windows 7 PC. I have also installed Thunderbird on my Mac. I have been told to just export all my address book to my Gmail account. My PC Thunderbird does not have an export tab, only Import. I have read on the Thunderbird help page about downloading a profile folder, and using it to make the transfer. When I found that folder, there are quite a few other folders listed under it. None of them had the same title as what was mentioned on the help page. It just seems to me that I should be able to send my address book to a thumb drive, and then just download the address book to the Mac. What other options do I have to accomplish this? Benny
Have you tried opening your address book and on the tools menu selecting export?
Hi Mark... My Thunderbird program on my windows 7 PC under tools does not have export. It only has import. My Thunderbird on my new Mac has both, import and export.

OK Zenos... I now have a toolbar in the address book. Whats next? As you can see, I'm an appliance operator, not a hacker. I need all the help I can get..... Benny
