Please take care. Are you sure you need Firefox 25.

A visa application should be made securly. I may understand a government site specifying a minimum browser version, and letting that information get outdated, but I doubt they expect you to use an outdated, unsafe browser that is certainly not secure.

Where do you see this advice ? Is it even the genuine visa site or some scam or phishing site?

Yes.. I know it sounds strange. But it says so on the Visa4UK website. Someone else posted a similar query and was given a link for windows. I use Mac and thus don't think that will be compatible.

Hi Rads, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I read the faq page and guess it is out of date. I did not try looking for further support information, but I did fire off a quick email to possibly the correct people.

For Windows users if they needed to use an old insecure Firefox version as a one off I would suggest using Firefox Portable, but that is not available for Mac users.

If I were doing this I would first of all give the site a try with the current Firefox Release. If that fails because it detects you are using Fx47 or Fx48 then you could try to spoof the user agent of Firefox 25. Or just as you initially suggested download and use Firefox 25.

You should install that as an additional browser and only use it for this purpose. You also need to be aware that Fx25 can not possibly be considered to be secure - so not something you would normally want to use for a Visa application !
