Is that when you are saving a new bookmark? Or when looking for a bookmark that you want to use?

If it is the former, you can use this extension which does a better job and remembering the last folder that a new bookmark was saved in. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-bookmark-here-2/

Plus, the popup "Save" window is larger to begin with, allowing more folder to be shown; and the 'viewport' of folders can be dragged larger yet - that setting will hold over time.

I pick a folder for a bookmark and then I need to select it again for the next bookmark, even though it's the very same folder.

Thank you for your answers. Yes, this is when a new bookmark is created. What I would like to do is to save the bookmark to the last bookmark folder used with one clic on the star, which was the default behaviour some time ago, and I believe it should be now, too. I believe that I have tried this addon before, and it does not do that, in fact it complicates the process even further. I will be trying it again now.

Well, it does it, only that it is clumsy to change the default bookmarks folder to save in. I will spend some time on it, thank you.

Thank you, it is working well enough. It does not save the last folder used to save a bookmark, but I can set the default folder fast enough. It is practical.

What does "Show the Tags in Inline" option of "Add Bookmark Here ²" do?

And also "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is a bit difficult to track.

There is an ongoing Add Bookmark Here support thread over here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=522643&start=930

Another ABH user should be able to answer your question about the "Show the Tags in Inline" option. I haven't used that extension in 4 or 5 years now, as I add very few new bookmarks these days. Got enough and I hate categorizing them.

As far as "Load this bookmark in the sidebar", that is a standard feature in Firefox. I don't know how useful that feature is "today", but is sure raises a lot of questions about how that "tick-box" becomes selected. "Buttons" on webpages that encourage users to "Bookmark this Page" is how that gets selected. It's caused by an incompatibility in the JavaScript used for those "buttons" with Gecko-based browsers. Our advice is to NOT use those "Bookmark this Page" button on webpages; use one of 5 ways that are built into Firefox to save a new bookmark instead.
