My daily, weekly, and monthly displays of events do not appear - I can only see them in the "Gantt" view...

I'm still testing the Gantt app I downloaded a couple of months ago and this is the first time I can't see the day, week, or month.

I was normally able to flip back and forth and see the month view to check on my events, now I can only display the GAntt View in the calendar under Thunderbird.

Chosen solution

I had to disable "calendar week" display in Extensions.

Calendar weeks are now built-in, no add-on needed.

But I still think I need to buy a good off-the-shelf calendar program

Up to you. I have no other suggestion, I'm quite happy with Lightning.

In any case, when your problem has been fixed, can you mark the thread as 'Solved' please? Thank you.

I have no idea what 'the Gantt app' is.

The calendar add-on for Thunderbird is Lightning.

It was the "gantt chart" add-on I downloaded and use occasionally but I was able to view all versions of calendar (day, week, and month) and as of yesterday, I was unable to view all my calendar appointments, events, and reminders - in can only view them in Gantt chart view which is difficult to see all the monthly events at one time. The graphic view is what I can See now and believe me, I've got a lot of events posted each month.

Try to uninstall the "gantt chart" add-on. As per the add-on page it hasn't been updated for Thunderbird 45. Please contact the add-on author. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

Have you tried disabling the add-on? Or better still, restarting Thunderbird in safe mode? (That disables all add-ons.) There have been some updates recently and when an add-on isn't fully compatible with the latest version there are often misbehaviours like this.

Safe mode would guarantee not to see any events as Lightning is an add-on too.

I just realized I can't add an event, but I can add tasks...so it must be something wrong with lightening and i attempted to reinstall it as add-on, but no change... is there a way to uninstall lightening?

See graphic below that I can get calendar events in Gantt View....but they just don't appear nor can i add an event in Lightening...

Did you uninstall Gantt View?

At first I could add events while in gantt view...then i disabled gantt view as suggested - restarted - then re-entered Thundrerbird to bring up calendar and now screen was flashing - and now I have weekly calendar and gantt view, but not monthly view...

With this much hassle, I think I am going to buy a calendar reminder software program off the shelf - anyone got a suggestion?

Ok...I found the glitch...I had to disable "calendar week" display in Extensions...then it all came back... (see attached graphic)

But I still think I need to buy a good off-the-shelf calendar program - ACT is too expensive - any other suggestions would be helpful...

Thank you to all who made suggestions...
