How can I back up to a previous version (like 37 or 36) of TB? Now at 38.5.1.

Latest version doing weird things. Want to check to see if it was in previous versions. Examples: Clicking (NOT double click) on message, pops up in full screen mode. Selecting another message changes previous message, just read, as unread. These are all intermittent. Sometimes they happen, sometimes they don't.

Try safe mode before you do anything else. sometimes add-ons do not make the transition to a new version.

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
