Would it be possible to add the chance to sync Thunderbird profile like you do on Firefox?

I mean to sync just the preferences, accounts login details and settings for fonts, addons, contacts and so on

(I have seen other people asking the chance to sync all, including all messages but I do NOT expect that much, some users have GB of messages stored)

Thanks

How often do you expect to want to do this?

Why would copying your profile not suit you?

In this month, it happened 3 times, due to formatting and getting replacement of laptops that were not working...

I understand that I can copy that folder (or maybe 2 folders, because I have a profile for me and one for my wife), but it is longer than just login and sync ^^

Well, my profile contains locally stored messages. there's no way I'd want to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird without preserving these messages.

We already have unhappy users who think everything is in their profile and are understandably distressed when they lose messages they thought were in their profile but are in fact still on the server they have just separated from.

Imagine how hard it could be to identify what is stored, and would be preserved, versus what is not stored locally, and would need independent action on the part of the user to safeguard.

Copying and reinstating a profile seems to challenge many of our users. Splitting this procedure into several separate actions is too horrible to think about.
