Windows 8 FF 42.0

I have to accept third party settings for a site I visit several times a day. Also, Facebook seems to have a problem seeing that cookies are enabled, so I made an exception for it. Every time I close FF and reopen it, the settings revert back to default and I can't get them to save. I have to reset them every single time to custom settings. There is no save option.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
  • Clearing Cookies will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you want to keep.

I don't have it checked. It is working fine, but I haven't turned it off yet.
