Username or Password Invalid

I have config Sendmail and Dovecot on my VPS. I can sendmail from SSH. I tried to connect that to thunderbird.But got error "Username or Password Invalid".

When you're running your own server you should know what the correct settings are. So I'd assume your Thunderbird server settings are correct. If I were setting up my own server I'd certainly not accessing it without encryption though. Check your server logs, this would probably give a clue.

Why is authentication set to 'none'?

I can sendmail from SSH.

What does this mean?
