I clicked to open a lengthy draft in my Drafts folder and it vanished. Not in my trash, drafts, anywhere. I spent considerable time on it and need it back

Firefox will cache pages unless the headers say not to. I would consider that the Draft is lost if it was in a webform. this cannot restore your data if you were only using Firefox as a back up, but can help in the future:

Was this your Drafts folder on a webmail site you access using Firefox, or in the Thunderbird mail program? (Your post is currently slotted under Firefox, but a moderator can move it if it should be under Thunderbird.)

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I don't know what Thunderbird is. I use Firefox to access Yahoo for all my email. Would my problem lay with Yahoo rather than Firefox?

Yahoo mail (online) should not lose a draft when you open it or when close it using the small x on the upper right of the compose area or press Esc. All changes should be saved in the Drafts folder until you either delete the message or send it. If you delete a draft, it is gone; it does not go into the Trash folder.

Glitches do happen, but I only know how it is supposed to work. If the message is not in your Sent folder, you might need to check with Yahoo on its whereabouts or whether there is any backup.

Thank you.

Simply clicking on it to open made it disappear. It's happened on occasions with my new Macbook using their touch-to-click feature. This mattered for the work I put into it.

Mozilla said they can often find missing emails but everything written after their dates will be lost.
