My computer shows both ver 37.0.1 and 38.0.5 installed. Can I remove 37 safely?

Control panel on my wife's laptop show the 2 versions of Firefox installed and pages load slowly. My desktop only show 1 version and pages load quickly. Can I remove 37 without affecting 38 or is this a different issue? Thank you.

Chosen solution

Did you check that there are really two different Firefox program folders?

Where do you see the two versions?

If that is in the "Windows Control Panel > Programs" then it is more likely a leftover entry that didn't get removed when Firefox updated and uninstalling the older 37.0.1 version will remove the current 38.0.5 release and you would have to reinstall Firefox.
