ie if someone sends me an email and it doesn't show in Thunderbird inbox, where might I go to look for it to ensure the email has not gone to a junk file.? ie how to find junkmail in Thunderbird?

It would often be in your Inbox, but labelled as Junk It may be in the Junk folder for the account It may be in a Spam folder on your email provider's server. You may or may not be able to see this in Thunderbird, and you may have to go to your email provider's website and login to your email there.
