Why I need to restart firefox to apply automatic update?

Even if the automatic updates are enabled one need to either restart browser to apply the update or see the "About Firefox" window to find out that there is some update available. If I set automatic updates I expect more aggressive "update". If one does not close the browser it will not update itself, neither it will notify user about the need to apply the update. For example Chromium changes the colour of the menu icon to indicate that there is pending update.

Restarting Firefox allows the changes to be made to the program with out breaking your profile or essential program files.

I will be sure to pass this on to the developers as well. If any other ideas come to mind, please don't be shy and share them with input.mozilla.org. These are read every week by developers and presented to many teams by the User Advocacy team.
