Firefox crashes

Hi, I've been using firefox with facebook for years now and I often download pictures and when I click download the browser crashes and restarts and it leaves behind an empty JPEG image file (forced to manually delete it), works fines for at least 30 minutes. This is the only computer that has this issue and the new version of McAfee WebAdvisor. I notice the issue started to occur either immediately or shortly AFTER that new version of McAfee WebAdvisor got downloaded and installed without my knowledge and I think its caused by the new McAfee WebAdvisor because it has to scan the pictures before it downloads. Firefox on the other computers work just fine no issues whatsoever because they have an older version of McAfee SiteAdvisor. Could you please look at the crash reports:

I want to know how to solve and I need to solve this problem soon as this is one of my daily use computers and having this problem is becoming inconvenient. Thank You.

Good day everyone, Guess what, I've first disabled and uninstalled the McAfee WebAdvisor and this issue went away, I then reinstalled the older McAfee SiteAdvisor and about a couple of days later, the McAfee WebAdvisor was installed AGAIN and the addon was re-enabled, disable it AGAIN immediately I just uninstalled it AGAIN the next day because I'm always busy on the affected computer as it is one of my main computers and I didn't reinstall the older McAfee SiteAdvisor again because I didn't need it or want it any longer and I've been getting too many issues with it lately and I don't want to corrupt my Windows install due to errors having to uninstall and reinstall programs over and over again. I can now download pictures just fine after leaving the browser opened for an extended period of time (like a couple of hours) just like it did before the McAfee WebAdvisor garbage got installed on my computer and gave me big trouble, it still hangs but it doesn't do it every time and the hanging always did it on every browser and on every computer so I think the hanging behavior is normal to happen. The browser didn't even crashed once since the last reply to this post. I did have adobe flash hang and crash a couple times and I think that issue has to do with Facebook and every time adobe flash hangs and crashes I'm on my Facebook news feed page loading new stories and I think sometimes the news feed page on Facebook is causing adobe flash to hang and crash because some stories might use flash just like videos on YouTube uses flash. Once again, this issues occurs on every computers and I think it's normal and because adobe flash restarts almost immediately after it hangs and crashes and I send a crash report because I get a link to send a crash report. This issue only occurs once or twice in one browsing session depending on how much frequently I refresh my Facebook news feed page and it doesn't occur every day and/or browsing session and it actually occurs less often like it used to. I was able to successfully rescue my Firefox install and profile and most importantly my computer. I know this reply post is all over the place.

Once again, Thank You. This question problem is solved.

UPDATE: The other computer which doesn't have this problem has the same configuration than the one that has the problem except for the SiteAdvisor and the plug-ins on both computers are up-to-date too.

The most recent crash report are about the McAfee SiteAdvisor plugin for Firefox

  • Firefox 38.0 Crash Report [@ npmcffplg32.dll@0x14252 ]

Best would be disable this component and contact McAfee for support and also check for updtates..

I don't know what this report is about:

  • Firefox 38.0 Crash Report [@ ffi_call_win32 ]

The first report is an issue with the Shockwave Flash plugin, but is from Firefox 37.0.1

  • Firefox 37.0.1 Crash Report [@ hang | WaitForMultipleObjectsEx | RealMsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx | MsgWaitForMultipleObjects | F_1152915508___________________________________ ]

I was right all the time. I think what I'm going to do is Uninstall the new WebAdvisor because I can do it in control panel, remove the folder and reinstall the older SiteAdvisor where I didn't have problems (which is also installed on the other computers) and I always knew that Adobe Flash crashed randomly and it did it earlier on the non problematic computer, By the way Firefox crashed TWICE earlier today when downloading pictures from facebook and firefox wasn't opened for an hour and more like around 30 minutes. I tried to reproduce the problem using firefox on the non problematic computers and Google Chrome on the problematic computer, Chrome DID hang on the problematic computer but it didn't crash and the pictures downloaded successfully. I might forward this report to McAfee too for analysis and they'll need to fix those issues otherwise, I'll just uninstall their SiteAdvisor software and I'll find a different website ratings program just like SiteAdvisor.

Once again, Thank You.

Good day everyone, I think I found the problem, I decided to run Firefox on the problematic computer in safe mode and I can download pictures off of facebook with no problems and Firefox never crashed today still, when I'll have the time, I'll uninstall the newer WebAdvisor and reinstall the older SiteAdvisor and I'll email the link to this page so they can look at it and they'll need to fix, update their WebAdvisor so it won't cause Firefox to crash so this inconvenient experience won't occur to me again especially on my other computers or anyone else that happen to have their latest WebAdvisor installed and they use Firefox as their primary browser. Once again McAfee took a non problematic program, harmed it, and then call the new better than the old one! No wonder why you can't install the newest thing yet officially from their website and they give you the older version. Thank goodness I won't need to reset or reinstall Firefox on the problematic computer because I found the problem or what was causing it to occur.

Once again, Thank You.
