Upgraded to 36.01 last night.

Tried using DownloadHelper for YouTube downloading and Awesome Screenshots for screenshots.

Plugins work, but once the process for downloading/saving to hard drive occurs nothing is downloaded/saved.

I have completed a FF Refresh and reloaded both plugins, same issue.

I have restarted the computer and issue remains.

Hi tbohannon, there is a problem with the old version of DownloadHelper in Firefox 36. They are working on a new version, which you can download and help test from this discussion page:

These are disabled as there is no method to remove them in Extensions.

Plugins are programs that are found on your computer.

Check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

But I pretty sure this is not what is blocking downloads from DownloadHelper and Awesome Screenshot...I installed FireShot and YouTube Enhancer Plus and they are working...so I am thinking this something with the updates of FF 36.01 breaking these two Extensions.

I use these extension every day multiple times a day and they were working fine before I upgrade FF to 36.01.

Hi Funkyecat, would you mind starting a new question with your system information? Also, if JavaScript is truly disabled it will be reported to you on about half the sites on the web. Are you seeing it everywhere?

To start a new question:

https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new/desktop/websites

If the suggested articles are not useful, keep scrolling down to continue with the new question form.

Also just for the record, you can enable/disable JavaScript globally in Firefox using this approach:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste javas and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the javascript.enabled preference is bolded and user set to false, double-click it to toggle it back to true. If it was already true, the problem lies elsewhere.

The prolem wasn't javascript. when you check plug-ins (Tools>add-ins.plug-ins)- Shockwave flash and others were set as inactive under the new Firefox), When activated all was fine.
