Using OSX Yosemite and Firefox 34.0.5. all of a sudden not a single saved password in my file. key3.db file along with logins.json and the signons.sqlite file still in the system. However the about:config screen does not display the signon.importedFromSqlite.

I've spent hours reading forums and have not found a procedure to restore the saved passwords. Appreciate your help with the steps suggested. Thank you

If you use the Time Machine then try to restore the logins.json (or signons.sqlite file) and key3.db file(s) from that backup.

You need the move or rename the logins.json file and reset signon.importedFromSqlite to make Firefox (re)import the passwords from the signons.sqlite file. If that still doesn't work then you need to delete the key3.db and logins.json and signons.sqlite files and set the Master Password again. You will lose all saved passwords doing that.

The "Remember Password" extension has been reported to cause issues with the passwords disappearing, so if you have this extension then remove (uninstall) it.
