Can the height/width of the 'Notes' text box for a contact be changed?

more options

I'm running Thunderbird v 31.2.0 in Linux Mint 13 Maya.

If you right click a contact in an address book and select 'properties', a data entry window pops-up with several tabs ('Contact', 'Telephone', Private' etc). The 'Other' tab has a text entry box headed 'Notes' whose height is not adjustable. There is a vertical scroll bar but, unfortunately, the fixed box height only allows about 6 lines of text at a time to be visible.

Is there any way to increase the height of this text box? Perhaps there's a config parameter?

If not, is there an add-on which allows the height to be changed?

No direct help here, I'm afraid.

I have looked at my own "other" page in the address book, and mine is rather simpler than yours; just 4 "Custom" fields, and because there is no mailing address data, the space left over for the Notes field is rather bigger, about 12 lines in my case. Annoyingly, nothing is resizeable here.

Like you, I too am using gContactSync, which changes the Contact sheets' layout, so it's a puzzle that our two address books are so different. My tabs in TB 31.2.0 on Windows 7 are:

Contact, Private, Work, Other, Chat, Photo, Other E-mails, Other Data, Extra Fields, Addressbooks, gContactSync

I'll have to see what my Linux machine's address book looks like.

Solution: The developer of the Thunderbird add-on 'gContactSync' has added a fix for this issue to version 2 of said add-on. See: Pirules.org forum topic
