tried to install I tunes and instead groovorio was installed. I uninstalled it but still got groovorio browser window. called ISP who walked me through security, privacy, default browser setting. I could get Yahoo search (which I have never used) but when I tried to go to any website, I got an error message saying I couldn't connect and something about proxy servers. (can't remember, so frustrated and upset). finally downloaded new Firefox but tech person told me to use Explorer to do it. So I did and got another new browser window....can't remember but I didn't recognize it. somehow I got here to mozilla support. Can't remember anything!!! very upset

Chosen solution

hello lmnop, as a general rule please only download software from the official vendor site. when you get software through advertising links or download portals those might bundle software with unwanted additions often bordering on malicious.

in order to download and install the current firefox browser for your system please go to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

you probably should also run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner which are specialised in removing adware and browser hijackers..
