I have a blog, The Vegan Vine, that I've set up to not track my own page views. It works until I close down the Firefox browser. When I reopen the blog in the browser, it goes back to tracking my own page views again. How do I stop this from happening?

Blogger uses cookies to not track your own pageviews. Make sure Firefox isn't set to clear cookies when you close it in the Privacy Settings. You could also try telling sites you don't want to be tracked in the same setting window.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.
