Hello, I'm using thunderbird with profilemanager. I created 2 profiles. As I like thunderbird to autorun on windows start up I created an write protection on the profiles.ini file in my appdata. That was working very well; using the autorun thunderbird starte with profile: Private Closing thunderbird and launching via shortcut (attachted the -p) it asked my to choose a profile.

The new version of thunderbird is also showing me the profile dialog but it is not working. There is no profile started. Also after closing thunderbird the prozess is still working for over 1 hour. So on the next launch of thunderbird nothing is working...

The new 31 version is not working on my desktop computer. If you like to I could send you my private profile errorlog and my buisness profile errorlog.

Best regards Chris

First try restarting in windows safe mode. Sound like you have an anti virus that is not happy you updated.

Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX

If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
