Firefox 17.0 incorrectly displays web page text, like it has for quite a few previous versions...
Commonly text overlaps other elements at the top of articles in online newspapers both in the US and UK. This problem has been around for a few incarnations of Firefox but no one seems to be addressing it.
Running latest Firefox under OSX 10.7.4 iMac.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
- View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
- Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
- Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

Thanks for the reply.
I had already dealt with font settings etc.
Tried the zoom addon...piece of crap.
Just installed Google Chrome and it does not have the problem.
Goodbye Firefox....
Yep didnt fix my exact same problem either, even after downloading add on. Why should i have to download an add on to simply re-set something to default anyway? Who's building this stuff?
Is Mozilla learning from Microsoft? Cant leave well enough alone?
thanks for the help...but if its better not to make certain adjustments why the heck would Firefox include those adjustments?
I dont want to be using Chrome...but if it actually just works...
Firefox is still not working properly when it comes to text display. Just go to www.telegraph.co.uk and look at the horizontal strip that says Comments & Blogs...
