I am used to using control+tab to switch between tabs and then the up/down arrows to scroll within a webpage. recently up/down switches tabs instead of scrolling unless I first click on the web page.

this is very annoying as I always muti-task and am very keyboard oriented

hello Mcstubb, could you try launching firefox in safemode once and see if you can replicate this behaviour there? maybe an extension is interfering...

Thanks for the suggestion, I did some troubleshooting and isolated it down to http://www.varesano.net/contents/projects/firefox%202%20theme%20firefox%203x I have replaced it with an alternative https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-2-theme-for-firefox and everything works fine
